We decided it was time for our kids to do Wolverine Bowl. They did well and they liked it, however, Margaret can’t seem to make it across the flat part. She ends up at some point catching an edge and going down. She did a face plant the last time down (we all missed it).

Well, we have had more snow recently than we have ever seen up here. Our deck has about 7 feet on it. We had about 5 feet in front of my garage door when we got here. We won’t be able to get into our front door until spring, there is about 10 feet of snow on that walkway. We expected that the first floor windows might be blocked by snow, but not the second floor.
About 10 years ago, Katy started using hotwheelsskier as her AIM name. This was because she found the black run at Alpine Meadows that all the kids love and all the adults hate. It is a narrow twisty run that the kids can do relatively easy and the adults with longer skis have a harder time with it.
Well, today everyone in the family did it for the first time. Both Sam and Margaret loved it. This was a big day for the family, they are all skiing (Margaret boards) much better. Unfortunately, the second time down, I had a little mishap and tore my calf muscle. Pictures here. So for some members of the family it was the first time down Hot Wheels Gully, for others, maybe the last.
I am pretty proud of my kids that they are so much better than me at something so that I hurt myself trying to keep up with them (and not succeeding very well).
Just a few pictures from one of our evening sojourns to the end of the canyon. Also, here are a few pictures of the flowers in our backyard.
We tried to hike to the waterfall. The hike was nice, but we ran into snow shortly after we crossed the bridge on the Tahoe Rim Trail and lost the trail, so we didn’t actually make it to the waterfall. It was a good hike though, we got to walk over some snow and the dogs had a good time.
Late May Snow
The last weekend for us for skiing in 2010. The kids have gotten a lot better this year. A couple of pictures here.
