Boo! Katy was an angel (of course). After months of trying to convince Margaret to be a fairy, at the last minute she found the doctor dress up kit and decided to be a doctor (obviously a pediatrician, as her face is painted). Sam had no choice, but is crazy for bikes, so we made him a cyclist. We picked our favorite cycling role model, Tyler Hamilton.
We all went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium this past weekend. Katy went scuba diving (surface only – no diving), with drysuit, tank, mask, fins, the whole kit. It’s the only program in the world that takes 8 year olds scuba diving in the ocean, although the “ocean” is the great tidal pool at the aquarium. She spent about 20-30 minutes in the water, and got to hold sea cucumbers, star fish and more. Very, very cool. Check out the photo of the children descending the stairs in their drysuits. We had a quick trip to the beach this weekend. Dug in the sand a bit and saw a literal boat load of pelicans.
