It was Sam’s first day of school. He is in the 5 day class this year. He seems to be enjoying it after the first few days. Next week, he will start lunch and play. That is a big deal to him because he couldn’t do it last year because he wasn’t potty trained. You are really supposed to be potty trained to go to this school at all, but he has been going for 2 years with it.
We had landscaping done to get our final occupancy permit as well as the TRPA inspection. We took a washer and dryer up there and moved a bit more stuff in. The landscaping looks great.
UPDATE: We passed the TRPA inspection.
We have now passed all of the building departments requirements for using our house. There is still an issue with planning and planting trees before we can officially get our final inspection and the important certificate of occupancy. But all in all, we are excited that we can use our house now (even if not officially). Just uploaded a few pictures. They are a bit fuzzy because I am an idiot and don’t know how to work my camera. I had the ISO at 1600 from when I was taking pictures before and didn’t notice it. There is a contest to see who can figure out the most remarkable thing about the house so far. HINT: something is complete that shouldn’t be.
We went to a party today where the Karaoke Ice cream truck was the guest of honor. The kids had a great time singing and dancing karaoke. We even got Pokie up there doing it and here is thestuff from the Karaoke Ice website.
There are a couple with Katy and Jenna from the Karaoke Ice website, here and here.
Katy and Susan made it back from England today. They were about 5 hours late because of the tightened security at Heathrow. We are very happy to have them back.
We went to see art today. It was some strange art show that is all over downtown San Jose. The picture above is Margaret in the Karaoke Ice truck. You sang karaoke and they gave out fun pops. The other thing that everyone liked was they displayed art (or something) on the San Jose City Hall.
Final Inspection (Try #1)
I tried for our final, the first real attempt. We were reasonably close, just have to redo a little bit of the electrical. We also have to do something to pass the TRPA part of the inspection. But so far, no one can really tell us what that is. Hopefully, we will go back up around 8/21 and try again and this time get our final. We also got our bear box installed recently. We were lucky, because this is something that is required for final, but no one told us about it.
