Sam had his Christmas concert at school today. This one was better than most because they had someone playing the organ and you could actually hear the kids sing. I got a few pictures, Elizabeth got video of most of it.
This is Margaret’s letter to Santa. Click on it to see a bigger picture.
I think she wrote this in the computer lab at school. They told them to write to Santa. Clearly, Margaret is not familiar with the format of a letter to Santa (Dear Santa, I want X, Y and Z for Christmas), and thought it should be like a normal letter to a friend or relation.
Katy’s Christmas List
We were back in Starkville for Thanksgiving. My whole family was there. My uncle made it down from West Virginia, with his son Timothy who I haven’t seen in over 10 years. My aunt came up from Pearl. Of course my brother and sister and their families were there. The kids had a great time playing with everyone. We went geocaching. We found this cache, but didn’t find this one.
We went to the San Francisco Auto Show. Elizabeth was lucky enough to get her picture taken with her hero.
Elizabeth: This impersonator looked so real, I did a double take when I saw him. He was making fun of Bush, saying all sorts of malapropisms, which the crowd found funny (hey, it was San Francisco, but with an approval rating in the low to mid-30’s, I guess it could have been anywhere but Idaho). Rusty insisted that I have my photo taken.
Katy and Margaret had a pre-Christmas recital. Sam and I enjoyed it immensely.
Elizabeth: The girls worked very hard to prepare for this, and played songs that were somewhat difficult for them. They both played well, and I am proud of them. If you would like to see and hear their performances, click on the photo and then on the movie of each of them. After the recital, which took place in a nursing home, they stayed and greeted the residents who came to listen to the show.
