Today was the celebration for Sam’s last day at Mariposa. The last time for the memory walk. Next time Sam goes to school, it will be in Kindergarten at Van Meter.
George and Susan came down and took Katy, Margaret, and Sam to Roaring Camp Railroad. They had a good time riding the train through the redwoods.
We had a great weekend in Tahoe for Memorial Day. We went on hikes, got a lot done around the house to prepare it for summer, bought everything that was in Reno, went to the dinosaur park, and lots of other stuff. Great weather, great weekend.
Because of Mary’s graduation, we had to leave from Oakland about 4pm on Friday. So, we decided to go an around about way. We ended up driving through the delta, along levees for a good bit of the way. It took longer, but we avoided most of the traffic. It was also a very interesting part of the state that we had never been to.
Alan and I took the TR250 to Dixon this weekend. It was a round trip of about 250 miles. The first time the car has actually been on the highway. It was a champ, a little smoky and loud, but it made it there. The only mechanical failure we had was that the speedometer broke within 2 miles of the end of the trip.
Today we went to the Maker Fair. We did all kinds of stuff. We painted rubber ducks with Microsoft, saw hacked roombas from hackingroomba.com, toured the Neverwas Haul, high speed photography, and lots of other stuff.
It was one of those things that we weren’t sure if we would like it or not and ended up staying all day today. Margaret is planning on going back to do more stuff tomorrow.
Sam finally got a haircut that Papa Jesse would be proud of. His sisters are calling him Mr. Fuzzy.
UPDATE: I just got a new lens so I had to take a few pictures of Katy and Sam to try it out. I added them to the other pictures of Sam’s Haircut.
Saturday was the annual Cat’s Hill Criterium here in Los Gatos. The family walked downtown to watch the Pro/1/2/3 race.
