This week was spring break for the kids. We were in Tahoe, so Susan, George (and Daisy), and Mary came up for Katy’s birthday. We did lots of skiing (Margaret was boarding of course). Jax (and the kids) spent time on the mound of snow next to house. We hiked down to the creek.
It was Easter. Katy was kind of sick so no one went to church. We did have an Easter egg hunt in the front yard.
Elizabeth: Katy was very sick. We spent several hours in the ER the night before because she was having trouble breathing. Turned out she had croup, which I did not know 12 years old could get. She missed a week and half of school. The rest of us have been a bit sick, but not nearly so badly. Rusty is the sickest right now.
Katy and I went kayaking with the Yonenagas on Elkhorn Slough. It was lots of fun. Lots of otters and seals/sea lions. Katy really thought the seals/sea lions reminder her of me because they just lay around and grunt from time to time. You can also see what Jenna thought of the trip here.

Last week was our ski week. The kids had the week off so we went to Tahoe for the week. We all did a lot of skiing (except Jax). Jax managed to find a couple of coyotes and protect us from them. The Waldens came up and skied with us. Margaret started snowboarding, Katy got better at it. Sam got much better at skiing. We also saw the eclipse, and the kids spent a lot of time outside in the snow playing. No one was ready to go home at the end of the week.
Elizabeth and I went to Tahoe this weekend and left the kids and the dog with Grandma (thanks Susan). Katy and Elizabeth went up Friday morning to ski with friends, I came up later Friday night. There was 4+ feet of snow on the deck. Katy and the others left at 2:30am Saturday morning, so Elizabeth and I had the weekend there alone. We got all the snow cleaned up on Saturday to wake up to a fresh batch on Sunday. I leave my snow blower near the front door so it I can use it to get out in the morning (if you look close you can see it). It is a Honda, so with a little digging it starts. Because of blowing, we ended up with about 4 feet of snow in the driveway that morning. Elizabeth wanted me to take out the trash. Needless to say, the snow is over some of the windows on the bottom floor and almost up to some windows on the second floor.
Elizabeth and I got iPhones a couple of weeks ago. We love them. They are great. I dropped mine from about waist level onto concrete the other day. I still love my phone, I am just not as happy. Now I have to go talk to the geniuses at the apple store and give them a bunch of money ($250) and they give me a new phone.
Still work to do, but check out the engine install on my other website.
