Italy
When Elizabeth was sick, there was a picture of a church in one of the hallways in the hospital. She figured out it was in a small town in the Dolomites. I told her I would take her there when she got better. She got better, for her 50th birthday, her parents sent us to Italy. We went to the small town in the Dolomites, found a church. It was the wrong church. I guess we will have to go back.
We had a great time in Italy anyway. We started in Venice. Then made our way to Lake Como, where we climbed the Ghisallo pass. Went to the museum at the top of the climb. Turns out a grand fondo for Fabio Casartelli was going on at the same time. Then we went to Bormio. There we climbed the Stevlio and the Gavia.
Next up was the Dolomites, where we rode the Sella Ronde and climbed up through the lagazuoi tunnels.
Boardwalk
We have been to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk a few times this summer.
Father’s Day
Año Nuevo
For our blood outing this year, Katy picked elephant seals at Año Nuevo. No blood this year like we saw last year. We did see one very quick fight. The seals can move reasonably fast, but only between long periods on napping and only it seems like 10 feet. It seems like we will have to go back in a month or so and see it when there are more seals their and when the babies are plentiful.

Cross Country
Another season of cross country is in the books for Margaret. She did very well, getting 3rd (out of a couple hundred) in a couple of races. She would have done better in the one these pictures are from, but she had to stop with 100 yards to go to throw up and a few people passed. All in all, she did very well. She will have to work a bit harder to make varsity next year.
