We went to Tahoe in early June to try to keep things moving on the construction project and to have some fun. We discovered a great little park right in downtown Tahoe City and on the lake. It is called Commons Beach. It has a rock for climbing. We also spent a little time at Meeks Bay.

Sam’s sisters dress him up in their old Snow White outfit. He was very pleased with himself. I am very worried.

We got a new gas grill. The most exciting thing about it was the box. The kids played in this for hours on end. More pictures here.

Margaret announced that she wanted to see giraffes, so we went to the San Francisco Zoo. It turned out that it was opening weekend for the new African Savana exhibit. We saw all kinds of animals. Margaret’s favorite was the giraffes. The gorillas and the elephant came in a close second. A good time was had by all. Here are some pictures.

Katy had her piano recital today. I think that she set a new world record for length of time for these songs, although she usually plays them even faster. She played very nicely and looked pretty in her new dress, too.

Sam got a haircut today. He looks much older, don’t you think? Here are a few pictures.

We spent Easter weekend at the Schwartz’s place in Ward Canyon. We got up there Saturday afternoon. Most of the snow was gone, so we didn’t get any skiing done, but we did explore a beaver dam on Ward Creek, hunt easter eggs, and Sam learned about Linux device drivers. Here are some pictures.

Katy had her 9th birthday yesterday. We had a surprise party for her. She giggled for the first 10 minutes. Here are a few pictures.
