Katy had her choral concert at school. It was actually a concert for all the music. The band, the strings, and the chorus all played for us. The chorus was the best. Lots of “Hot Cross Buns” and the like from the others.

I am getting into beekeeping. Bruce convinced me to make a few “top bar” or Kenya hives. We built the hives a couple of weeks ago and then I got on a swarm list. Today I got a call that there was a swarm near me. None of us had ever tried this, but it went perfectly. Now I have a few thousand bees installed in my hive. Hopefully, they will set up shop and start making honey and more bees. Here is a short video of us getting the swarm into a box so we can bring it home. After that we sealed up the box and put the buzzing box in the car and drove it home. Here is a longer video of us getting the swarm from the box into the hive.
Now I have 2 hives. One of them has a window in the side. Here are some pictures.
Katy did her first science fair. She got an A on the project. Here are all the pictures she took while she was collecting her data. She ran the experiment and collected all the data. Elizabeth worked hard on the presentation.
Katy had a little concert of what she has been doing in music class.
Katy (and the whole 5th grade class) graduated from the D.A.R.E program. I am not sure why it is a big deal, the only thing Katy seemed to learn is that if you only have a small amount of pot, you don’t get in too much trouble.
Friday night was opening night for Katy’s school play. All went well. Elizabeth got a few pictures. Susan and George went tonight. The rest of the family will be going Sunday afternoon, then it will all be over. I will post more pictures after the play on Sunday. UPDATED with pictures from the final show. Lots of movies and pictures.
Katy is Becky, the perky cheerleader in her school play. These pictures were taken at a dress rehearsal the other night. Not too many pictures of Katy, but I was really just trying out the camera and lens to see how it would do in the light.
