Sam participated in Choir for a Cure (or something like that). Margaret’s 4th grade teacher spends her time and has the kids do a choir performance and all the money she makes goes to some cancer charity.

Another school play. This time Margaret was actually in it. (She did crew last year). I don’t quite understand why they have to copy things, this was a copy of Gilligan’s Island merged with Jungle Book. They like to take classic rock songs as well and change the words. This was one of the better plays, but 5th graders in Los Gatos are not like Fame.
Can you believe it? We have a high schooler. Katy had her first day of high school on Monday. They are doing a block schedule this year, so she only went to half of her classes. The best story from the first day was that she got her locker for PE. Immediately put all her stuff (including the combination she was just given) in the locker and locked it. She had to stay late for a little while so they could find her combination for her again..
Katy had her 8th grade graduation. She managed to be “Principal’s Scholar” because she got all A’s in all 12 quarters of middle school. She was one of about 35 in her grade to get it. We are very proud of her. She worked hard for this. There are also a few pictures from a few days ago when Katy went to the 8th grade dance.
We went to school today to see Margaret as part of the 4th grade wax museum. Each student was someone famous. When you pressed their “red dot” they would tell you about who they were and what they did when they were alive. Margaret was Eleanor Roosevelt.

Rosa Parks Play
Sam’s class did a Rosa Parks play this morning. Sam was “Narrator 2”. It was very cute, a bunch of lilly white kids pretending to be Rosa and MLK. They all did very well.

Cat in the Hat
Apparently, Sam had a “Cat in the Hat” party. They made hats.
Sam had an assignment over Christmas break to do something with the gingerbread man he made (or something like that). So, we took it to Tahoe and as we were leaving to come home, we took pictures of Sam holding it in front of the house.
Sam had a concert at school today. Elizabeth got a few movies of it.
Margaret was in the Los Gatos Christmas parade with her Brownie troop again this year. The goal was to get the Triumph ready for the parade, but we didn’t quite make it. It will be ready for the family for next year.
