We finally all (except Katy) made it back to Tahoe for the first time in a very long time. After the first night, we thought we might have to go back down because Elizabeth’s feet up to her knees were swollen. Fortunately, a walk through Page Meadows fixed that. The dogs had a good time as well. Margaret took all of the pictures. This may be the best one.

Susan has been taking one child at a time to see the opera in San Jose over the last few months. It is a big day out with the opera and supper at a fancy restaurant and all. Well, she decided to take all 3 of them to see Carmen. They all had a great time and when they got home, Elizabeth was here to meet them as a surprise.
Tour of California
Today, Evan and I went to stand out in the cold rain and hail and watch some skinny guys go by us quickly. The blurry guy in front in this picture is Levi Leipheimer. He will probably win the whole thing. The blurry guy in the back in this picture is Lance. I had never been to see a race at this level. It was interesting to see these people “pedaling in anger” even though it was such a miserable day today.
No pictures (yet), but today we went to see the Van Meter production of “Snow White and the 67 Little People”. Margaret has been working hard on crew the last few weeks, making sets and various other things. This afternoon was the last showing.
Today was a big family ski day. We spent most of the day on the slopes. We all made it to the top of Alpine Bowl today together. This was a first. Katy had done it many, many times. Margaret and I did it last year. This was Sam’s first time. The only one that didn’t thoroughly enjoy it was Pokie. The second time down, Margaret went down the top section on her bottom then hit a mogul and flipped over. We thought she might be hurt, but she turned over and was laughing (it was actually pretty funny to watch). It was a great day.
Katy and I went to see the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit at the Tech today. It was very interesting to see what kind of engineering existed 500 years ago. Lots of gears. Fortunately for both of us, Katy and I have about the same attention span, so we went through quickly. We could have spent many hours there if we wanted to read and learn everyhing.
The end of the FLL season is here (for us). We had the tournament today. Again, the kids did extremely well and they had a great time doing it. We got 5th place in the robot challenge and probably about that overall. You can find a video of one of the runs here.
f tree (and Tahoe)
On Saturday, Bruce and I (and Jax and Lexi) hiked up to the f tree. On the way up, there was more snow than I expected, so it was one step at a time, so Bruce lead the way. The way down was pretty much straight down stepping through the snow. At the top, we were in a cloud, so we couldn’t see much at all.
Also included in this album are pictures of Jax digging in the snow. I am trying out picasa web. If you click on the picture above, you get the picasa web stuff. If you want the old stuff click here.
