We celebrated Sam’s birthday last night. Elizabeth made a cake. We asked Sam who he wanted to invite and he said his friends Doodle and Izzy. So the Yuens and Maxfields came over. Boo, Doodle, and Baby Yuen. Sophia and Izzy Maxfield.

Here are a few movies of Margaret skiing this weekend. Susan, Sam, Margaret, and I went to Tahoe this weekend. Margaret had another lesson. Now she keeps telling us she wants to live in Tahoe and ski more.
I have spent a good deal of time over the last few days scanning in slides. I assume I am about 20% there. Here are a few of my favorites.
Sam,Margaret, and Katy splicing genes at The Tech
Another long weekend in Tahoe. This time the girls had the week before President’s Day weekend off, so we went up on Wednesday night. Elizabeth skied on Friday morning until she took out a snowboarder and knocked herself unconscious. She got a new helmet. Then Katy and I skied that afternoon and a most of the day on Saturday. I got new Rossi Bandit B2 skis and had a blast skiing better. The kids played in the snow a lot and we had fun staying with the Schwartz’s.
Ayse and Elizabeth knit, so Katy got a new scarf. No photos of that, but Rusty is wearing a new hat and scarf knit by Marcella.
Today was a big day. We went bike riding this afternoon. Margaret and Sam at least. We ended up at the civic center riding around the fountain. We got a little video of Margaret. She is getting better and better. She still has a little trouble starting off, but it is coming. She wants this for her birthday. Sam is pretty much fearless on his tricycle. Hopefully, we will get him on the tag-along soon as well as a bike with training wheels.
We just had an office move at work. We decided not to move these. I brought 2 of them home. I can’t decide whether I got 2 to many or not enough. Any ideas on what I should do with them?
UPDATE: Now we have 3, because Rusty went and brought another study carrel home. I guess 2 weren’t enough. The first two are in the family room – one as a computer station and one as Katy’s homework desk. They are working very well, although the surface is a bit high for the kids. The last one is sitting in the basement doing nothing.
We went back to Tahoe again this weekend. Katy skied both Saturday and Sunday. Elizabeth skied Sunday morning and it turned out it was the only time that it actually snowed and rained all weekend. The kids made a snowman. We introduced Bruce and Zeki to DDR (we got it on video). Margaret had another ski lesson, she rode the chair lift and did well, but isn’t quite ready to ski with us. And Sam still loves the snow. I am trying a new way of putting the pictures out there for your enjoyment. Let me know what you think. Here is the old way and the new way.
