We had to go to Carmel-by-the-Sea to pick up a picture frame. So, we decided to make it a trip to Point Lobos. (OK. It wasn’t just to get the frame, we have been wanting to go to Point Lobos again for a while).

Galapagos
The kids were very lucky to have their Grandma Susan take them to the Galapagos. Margaret and Sam even got to miss a week of school. They all had a great time there seeing all the wildlife, snorkeling, etc. They met Marcella there as well. They took LOTS of pictures.
At Michigan, there is a rock that the students have been painting and repainting for many many years. Well, Katy got her first turn at it last night. Maybe the next time she and the girls in her sorority can learn about how paint drips. I am very proud of her. To me, this is one of the things that you must do as a Wolverine.
We all went to Ann Arbor to see what Katy has been doing for the last couple of months. We were able to go to a frat party, wonder around campus a lot, go to the big house, and other things that make up Katy’s college life. The kids also got to see where Elizabeth grew up, her various schools etc. Margaret is ready to go to college now. And of course, we got to take Katy out shopping at the most expensive stores we could find in Ann Arbor.

Katy is all set in her dorm room at the University of Michigan. Football game this weekend, classes start after labor day.
On Katy’s last full here before she went to college, we decided to go to one of her favorite places, the aquarium. Fun was had by all. We even got Pinkberry.

Graduation
All done with graduations. We have a party in a couple days and then a trip to Ann Arbor. The younger kids spent the entire day outside saving seats. Tonight Katy and Elizabeth have grad night. I assume there will be a lot of sleeping tomorrow.
Elizabeth (with a little bit of help) created a really nice senior board for Katy. Katy won’t see this until grad night after graduation.
Tonight was LGHS Awards night. It was done well, most of the time was spent talking about the students. Katy received 2 scholarships. One from the Home and School Club, the other from CASA. Seeing her in her cap and gown really hit me that she is graduating and going away to school very soon.
Tonight is prom. Lots of very dressed up kids. It seems strange that these kids will be all over the country next year.
