None of us can believe that Katy is 18. She will be going off to college soon. These days turning 18 doesn’t mean as much as it used to. But Katy is telling me each day what else she can do now that she is 18. She can buy an animal now. She can vote. I am sure there are others.

Los Gatos Diving Meet
In an attempt to see some of the country around where we live, I decided to take the family to Carmel-by-the-Sea and Point Lobos. Everyone complained about why would they want to spend a day with the entire family. Well, in the end, everyone had a great time and we got to see some beautiful parts of the country that are pretty near by. Margaret enjoyed it so much she made her Grandma Susan take her back to Carmel a few weeks later.
Another year of FLL done. This year the team won the Teamwork award at the first FLL competition then moved on. Not much was done to improve after the first event, so no awards at the second event. This was the last year for much of the team that we started with. Here are pictures from the first competition (in 2012) and here are pictures of their robot.
Tonight, Sam became a Boy Scout. He is no longer a cub scout. He joined Troop 539. He will do a lot more on his own. Lots of camping and going to meetings by himself.
The picture above is of the large icicle that tends to form right outside my bathroom window. The reset of the pictures in this are just from a pretty snow day in Tahoe, taken around our house. It turned out that this was the pretty much the last snow of the season.
Another Christmas has come and passed. We trimmed the tree. Then had a good Christmas morning where everyone got way too many presents. One thing that we got was Just Dance 4. We all had to try it out. Even I did (there are probably pictures somewhere on the internet that have me dancing in them).
Another Halloween, another 1400+ people coming by the house. This year Sam was Dr. Who (I am not sure which one, but he is). Katy was some kind of fairy/princess (kind of like in real life). Margaret was the Cheshire Cat (to go alone with her friend the aardvark as the Mad Hatter).
