Margaret had her 8th grade graduation. She managed to match her sister with all A’s (a principal scholar). They are going to allow her to go the 9th grade next year. We were worried.

5th Grade Graduation
We hadn’t been to Maker Faire in a few years. Seems like we hadn’t missed much. Still lots of good stuff there, but harder to find. Many more people than in the years past. We ended up getting tired pretty quickly so we didn’t stay too long. It has inspired Sam to design a 3-d Tardis. Once he gets it done, we will have to figure out how to print it. I am planning on making a geodesic dome as a family project (I just can’t get the family to agree).
I think that the (in)decision was made around May 1st. We are not sure if Katy decided to go to Michigan or that it was just more trouble than it was worth to fill out the paperwork to go to Kenyon. When I asked her the morning that she was supposed to make the decision, she said, “I DON’T KNOW”. I guess she yelled it more than said it. It does seem that she is getting more and more excited about it.
We went back to the exploratorium for the first time in a long time. It has moved since the last time we visited. This time we took George and Susan. George does some of these experiments for his students, just not with materials that can hold up to the abuse. We had fun, we joined for the year, so we will be back.
Katy’s diving career is over. In her last year as a diver, she made CCS (Central California Section). There were 48 girls there. I guess this is the last diving meet I will go to as well. I am curious how the team will do next year without Katy’s coaching. The team has gotten a lot better over the last 4 years.
