Sam and Margaret went to Max and Hans’s bowling birthday party. They both LOVED bowling. They have done it before, but it has been a long time. Later, that day when I asked Sam if he liked it, he said yes. Then I asked him when he wants to go again. He said “tomorrow”.

Got back from another great trip to Tahoe. One of my goals for the summer was to hike up to the top of the Lakeview lift and look down at my house. Well, I ended up driving most of the way up, but at least I made it. I got these pictures. We also had a great time out on our neighbor’s new boat. Going out on the lake was much more enjoyable than I thought it would be.
We got our puppy today. It is a labradoodle. Half poodle, half labrador. He is very easy going and very friendly. Katy even cleaned her room so Jax could sleep with her. The kids are all very excited.
I just (yesterday) got back from a couple more weeks in Tahoe. We had lots of visitors and did lots of fun things. We got our kayak and used it a good bit. We went to Emerald Bay, Baldwin Beach, and Stanford Camp. I cut down a few trees. There was a fire at the end of the street. All in all, it was a good trip. Elizabeth, Sam, and Margaret are still up there. Sam had his final doctor’s appointment today (all is well).
There was a fire just down the road from us in Tahoe. It was a little close for comfort. After the Angora fire, they seemed to have jumped on this one pretty quickly and kept it small.
Sam, Izzy, Margaret, and Sophie went to science camp and Sanborn Park.
We finally had Katy’s birthday party today. Ok, we are a bit late. We took the girls to Trapeze Arts where they all managed to do at least one catch from one trapeze to the other. Fun was had by all.
I went to DC for a few days to visit my buddy Karl and to go to my Uncle John Ed’s 70th birthday party. While I was there I went to the Air & Space Annex at Dulles and a quick walk around The Mall.
We just got back from spending about 2 1/2 weeks in Tahoe. We didn’t want to come home. We started out up there with my sister and her family, then the neighbors, then Elizabeth’s parents. The last week, we spent by ourselves. We did some hiking, Katy, Patty and Ceci went horseback riding, went to a laser show at Squaw, went to the beach, found a swimming hole in the river, saw fireworks (and a beaver), Sam broke his leg, went kayaking, saw New Monsoon, played tennis, the kids went to art camp, mountain biking, golf, saw The English Beat, used Bruce’s power wagon, and more. It was really great being up there for an extended period of time. Generally, when we go up, it seems like we are just there for a few days, but this time was more relaxed because we knew we would be there longer.
