Margaret and I in one kayak, Elizabeth and Sam in the other, made the trip from D. L. Bliss State Park to Emerald Bay. We stopped and had lunch in the Tea House on Fannette Island. After that, we went to the mainland and swam a bit. It was a 9.2 mile round trip. By far, the longest trip any of us have done in the Kayak. Margaret did really well paddling on the way there and she took most of the pictures. You can see a map of the trip on the Rusty’s Rides site.

Roy and I went up the canyon and behind Twin Peaks where the Tahoe Rim Trail meets the Pacific Crest Trail, then down through Alpine Meadows. The walk along the PCT was absolutely amazing. Either walking along ridge where we could see down to the lake, or down just below looking out through Granite Chief Wilderness. We will have to figure out how to do this hike so that we don’t have to walk back through Alpine Meadows. A map of the hike and some details can be see here.
Tahoe Update 2
As Elizabeth mentioned in the previous post, we have had a lot going on in Tahoe this summer. I have rearranged some of the pictures from last week and added some new ones as well. There are the flower pictures, the swimming and kayaking pictures (and movies), the Barker Pass hike, the exciting tree cutting, and the hike to the f-tree.
Here are the latest pictures from Hawaii. The whole family went snorkeling this morning. We will update more later. At some point a few videos of turtles should show up. It seems that Katy and Margaret have gotten into making instructional videos in the pool. More pictures every day. I will update and arrange everything when we get home.

Sam’s 6.25 Birthday Party
Sam had his first birthday party in a few years today. Supposedly, this was his 6th birthday party, but he didn’t actually have a party for his 5th birthday. Today we went to gymnastics. The kids had a great time running around and bouncing. I got some pretty good shots of them bouncing.
Just looking through things. Here is what my house looks like clean.
Girls on the Run 5k
Margaret did a 5k this weekend. She has been training for it for a while with Girls on the Run. Lucky for me, there were a lot of people, so she couldn’t really run and then I could keep up. If it hadn’t been so crowded, she would have left me in the dust no problem. She ran the practice 5k in 32:53 about a week before.
