Katy went surfing today and had a lot of fun. She had surf lessons from a woman instructor who mostly teaches girls. She has another lesson scheduled tomorrow. Both Katy and Olivia got up and had a bunch of runs into the beach. The only problem was Katy kept running into every other surfer out [...]

A few pictures from our annual trip to Hawaii. Here are some pictures of sunset (including Katy). Here are some pictures from snorkeling, Elizabeth saw squid and she and Margaret saw a ray of some kind. She didn’t get a picture of the ray.

Today is the last day of school for the year. Katy’s last day at Van Meter (we still have another 7 years there). When Sam graduates from Van Meter, Katy will be graduating from high school.

Margaret’s first grade class did their rendition of the Three Little Pigs. Margaret had a line welcoming everyone to the play. Like an opera, most of the play was sung.

Sam had his last day of school for the year. Everyone at the school is upset because his teacher (and the teacher that Margaret had for years) will not be coming back next year.

Katy had her choral concert at school. It was actually a concert for all the music. The band, the strings, and the chorus all played for us. The chorus was the best. Lots of “Hot Cross Buns” and the like from the others.

Margaret had her second piano recital this weekend. Unfortunately, I was in Japan for the first one. She did well.

Margaret and Katy had their annual gymnastics show this weekend. They both have gotten a lot better. It is amazing the things Katy can do now. I guess she has been doing this gymnastics thing for many years, but most of what she does I don’t even know the name for.
