Dare Graduation

Tuesday, January 31st, 2006

Katy (and the whole 5th grade class) graduated from the D.A.R.E program.  I am not sure why it is a big deal, the only thing Katy seemed to learn is that if you only have a small amount of pot, you don’t get in too much trouble.

Play

Saturday, January 28th, 2006

Friday night was opening night for Katy’s school play. All went well. Elizabeth got a few pictures. Susan and George went tonight. The rest of the family will be going Sunday afternoon, then it will all be over. I will post more pictures after the play on Sunday. UPDATED with pictures from the final show. [...]

Dress Rehearsal

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

Katy is Becky, the perky cheerleader in her school play. These pictures were taken at a dress rehearsal the other night. Not too many pictures of Katy, but I was really just trying out the camera and lens to see how it would do in the light.

Bike Riding

Sunday, January 15th, 2006

We did just a little bike riding today. Katy did some roller skating. Sam rode many different things. It was good to get out and play. Margaret is getting very fast on her really cool bike. On a slightly different note, Bruce sent us these pictures of our house in the snow.

The Whole Family Skis

Sunday, January 8th, 2006

Sam had his first ski lesson. It went VERY well. Margaret had a lesson as well. After her lesson, she was skiing much better. (I think a little encouragement from having Sam do well was a good thing). They are both riding the lift now. Katy and I skied most of the day, then Elizabeth [...]

Construction Update

Sunday, January 8th, 2006

More progress on the construction. The rough electrical is supposed to be done on Thursday. The plumbers are supposed to be there right now. The fireplace is (mostly) in. The gypcrete gets poured starting on the 23rd. Then insulation and drywall. We also got a couple of small benches/walls near the front door. The masonry [...]

New Years

Monday, January 2nd, 2006

We went to Tahoe again for the week between Christmas and New Years. It was an interesting week. We were able to see our house without scaffolding up around it. We went to a lighting store. I was able to get all of the communications wire run in the house. We had a flood. It [...]
