Steven’s Canyon, Mt Eden

I felt really bad just going up Steven’s Canyon. So just over Mt Eden and home for me. No Pierce today.
Tony got me up at 7 AM this morning and got me to ride most of the way up Highway 9. He went up the whole way and came back down until he found me.
Susan, Margaret, Sam and I made it up to the f-tree. We tried to go a little further and find the Pacific Crest Trail, but it looks like you pretty much need to climb over Ward Peak to find it. Lots and lots of flowers. I guess keeping the GPS in your pocket doesn’t do too well for altitude gain or mileage. I think that this was about a 10 mile hike with about 2000 total feet of climbing.
I finally got out on my Mountain Bike in Ward Canyon. I rode down to the Tahoe Rim Trail bridge. On the way, as I was crossing a stream, I did an endo INTO the stream. It was about a foot deep and I landed on my head. On the way back, I decided to walk across this stream. When I got to the stream, I looked for a way to cross without getting wet, then I decided that I had just been swimming in this stream, so I might as well walk across it. After that, I went down to the lake and then up through Talmont. About half way up into Talmont, I remembered that I didn’t know exactly where to find the trail out of Talmont, but I was committed, so I went on. I got lost, flatted, and finally found what I was looking for and made it back.
We were going to do a bit more, but it wasn’t in the cards. Just up Alpine Road a bit then back down.
Slightly more than the loop. Extended through Woodside. Ended up and watched Katy’s diving with Evan.
Up Zermatt, down around Page Meadows then back through part of the meadows nearest the lake. Then back via the Tahoe Rim Trail and up to the house. A nice ride to test out the Enduro. I am guessing I will keep it for a bit longer.
Up Page Mill to Altamont, down to Moody, up, then back down Page Mill. A nice ride but pretty short.
I finally made it up the climb that Tony took me on a while back. I had actually pretty much done all of the hard parts. I made it into a loop and came down Montevino Road. I actually got rained on a little bit (didn’t really get wet). I was also cold on the descent down the paved road.
Ride up Steven’s Canyon with Evan. Then back over Mt. Eden and Pierce and then home.
