Woodside

Sunday, July 31st, 2005

Just a nice flat ride from Los Gatos to Woodside and back. The only hill of note was climbing up Page Mill to Altamont. It was a good easy ride. I think I need more of these instead of most of the rides that I do that climb lots of hills.

Old La Honda - Skyline

Friday, July 29th, 2005

I broke a spoke about 5 miles into this ride, so Elizabeth had to come pick me up. Even though it was early, I found a bike shop that was open and managed to get it fixed at the Bicycle Outfitters in Los Altos. After all that, the ride was pretty good. [...]

Steven’s Canyon

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

This was supposed to be a ride up Redwood Gulch, but when we got to Redwood Gulch, it had just been chip sealed. It was covered in gravel and we decided to just ride to the end of Steven’s Canyon instead. On the way back, I went over Mt Eden. It is [...]

St Joe’s

Sunday, July 24th, 2005

Just a simple little jaunt up St Joes and over to Lexington and back.

East Zayante

Saturday, July 23rd, 2005

From Lexington Res, up and over the hills down into Boulder Creek and Ben Lomond, then up East Zayante and home. Turns out that I had never been to those towns in the Santa Cruz mountains. There is more there than I thought. All in all a good ride mostly on roads [...]

Old Santa Cruz Highway

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

One of my favorite climbs around. Up Old Santa Cruz Highway to Summit and back. I don’t really like going around the lake or especially going on the dirt trail to get to Lexington Res., but I do like the climb. Maybe one day I will figure out what is on the [...]

Altamont Road

Sunday, July 17th, 2005

Evan showed me a new road, Altamont Road in Los Altos. It goes from near the beginning of Moody to Page Mill a little below where Moody comes out. It seems to be a climb similar to the backside of Mt Eden, but the steep section is shorter. After that, we road [...]

Ward Canyon

Friday, July 15th, 2005

What has kind of become my standard ride. Up Gstaad to the little path that leads down to the Tahoe Rim Trail, up through Page Meadows, then along behind the houses and back out on Verbier.

Mt Eden

Tuesday, July 12th, 2005

Rode the normal thing around Steven’s Creek Resevoir. Added a little side trip up Steven’s Canyon Road to the base of Redwood Gulch, over Mt Eden and Pierce.

Moody

Monday, July 11th, 2005

Just the simple ride up Moody and down Page Mill and back to work. Got my heart rate up to 186 though. I thought my max heart rate was around 182.
